Log House Foods Supplier Code of Conduct
At Log House Foods, we are committed to conducting business with integrity, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship. We expect the same commitment from our suppliers and partners throughout our supply chain. This Supplier Code of Conduct outlines the standards and expectations suppliers must meet to maintain a partnership with us.
- Ethical Business Practices
- Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in the countries where they operate.
- Suppliers must not engage in any form of corruption, bribery, or unethical business conduct.
- Respect for Human Rights and Labor Standards
- Suppliers shall prohibit all forms of forced, bonded, or compulsory labor, including human trafficking.
- Suppliers shall not employ child labor and must comply with local and international age requirements.
- Suppliers must respect workers’ rights to fair wages, benefits, safe working hours (including no forced overtime beyond a standard 40-hour workweek unless voluntarily agreed and compensated), and provide safe and healthy workplaces.
- Discrimination, harassment, and abuse of any kind in the workplace are strictly prohibited.
- Suppliers must respect workers’ rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining.
- Employment must be voluntary, and workers must be free to terminate employment according to contract terms and relevant laws.
- Sustainable Sourcing
- Palm oil and cocoa used by suppliers on behalf of Log House Foods must be responsibly sourced and certified through credible mechanisms such as RSPO, Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, or equivalent.
- Suppliers must ensure traceability of palm oil, cocoa, and other key ingredients to prevent deforestation, land conversion, and violations of indigenous peoples’ rights.
- Suppliers shall comply with commitments to eliminate forced labor and child labor within their supply chains.
- Environmental Responsibility
- Suppliers must operate in compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
- Suppliers are expected to minimize their environmental footprint by managing energy use, water consumption, waste generation, and emissions responsibly.
- Use of sustainable packaging and efforts to reduce waste and promote recycling are encouraged.
- Suppliers shall avoid sourcing raw materials linked to deforestation, biodiversity loss, or ecosystem degradation.
- Transparency, Compliance and Monitoring
- Suppliers must maintain accurate records demonstrating compliance with this Code and allow Log House Foods, or its representatives, access to relevant documentation, facilities, and personnel for assessments.
- Regular compliance monitoring will include:
- Self-assessment Questionnaires: Suppliers will periodically complete detailed questionnaires covering all Code topics.
- Audits: Scheduled and unannounced audits—both onsite and remote—will be conducted either internally or by third-party auditors.
- Data & Technology Tools: Use of supply chain management software and analytics to monitor practices and identify compliance risks.
- Suppliers are expected to establish internal management systems that ensure compliance and provide accessible grievance mechanisms for workers and affected parties.
- Non-compliance must be reported immediately. Corrective action plans will be developed collaboratively, with follow-up audits to confirm remediation.
- Repeated or severe violations may lead to termination of the business relationship.
- Continuous Improvement
- We encourage suppliers to continuously improve their social, environmental, and ethical performance and to join us in advancing sustainability across the supply chain.
- Suppliers should actively engage in training and partnerships that support responsible sourcing and labor rights.
By partnering with Log House Foods, suppliers commit to uphold these standards and contribute to a responsible, sustainable, and ethical supply chain that benefits people, communities, and the planet.
