Respect for Workers Policy

At Log House Foods, our greatest asset truly is our people. We are firmly committed to creating a safe, respectful, and fair working environment for all employees. We recognize and uphold the fundamental rights of every worker, valuing their dignity, well-being, and contribution to our success.

Commitment to Compliance and Rights

We comply fully with all applicable international labor standards, including the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, as well as all relevant United States federal laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and the labor laws of the states where we operate, specifically Minnesota and Florida.

Our compliance ensures:

  • No Forced Labor or Human Trafficking:
We have a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding forced labor, human trafficking, slavery, and any form of involuntary labor. Employment with Log House Foods is voluntary, and employees are free to leave their employment after reasonable notice as defined by law.
  • Respect for Working Hours and Overtime:
We adhere to a standard 40-hour workweek. No employee is required or allowed to work forced overtime beyond their scheduled hours. All overtime work must be voluntary, compensated fairly, and compliant with applicable laws.
  • Fair Wages and Benefits:
We provide wages and benefits that meet or exceed legal requirements, ensuring fair compensation for all hours worked.
  • Safe and Healthy Workplace:
We are dedicated to maintaining safe, sanitary, and healthy working conditions, ensuring our employees’ physical and mental well-being.  Workers must be over 16 years old, and over 18 years old before dangerous work, as prescribed by Federal and State laws.
  • Non-Discrimination and Equal Opportunity:
We foster an inclusive workplace where every employee is treated with respect and fairness, free from discrimination, harassment, or retaliation based on race, gender, age, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected status.
  • Freedom of Association:
Our employees have the right to freely associate, form, join, or refrain from joining labor unions or worker organizations, without fear of retaliation or discrimination.

Training and Reporting

We provide regular training to management and employees to uphold these policies and ensure awareness of workers’ rights and protections under the law. We encourage open communication and provide secure channels for employees to report concerns or violations confidentially and without fear of reprisal.

Accountability

Violations of this policy or related laws will be met with appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination. We expect our suppliers and partners to uphold these same standards of respect and compliance.

At Log House Foods, respecting and protecting our workers is not only a legal obligation—it is a core part of who we are. We are committed to fostering a workplace that reflects care, fairness, and dignity in every aspect.
